Calamanchai started with a simple craving — something fizzy, tangy, and actually good for you. Not another sugary soda. Not an overpriced import. Something made here, with local ingredients.
It grew out of a fermentation community in Taguig — 100+ members exploring kombucha, kimchi, and kefir together. What began as a hobby turned into a question:
"Why is there no affordable, healthy, fizzy drink that Filipino kids would actually enjoy?"
Calamanchai isn't a product dreamed up in a boardroom. It was developed, tested, and validated by a real community. Every batch is brewed by hand in Taguig, using fresh Philippine calamansi and a fermentation process that's been refined over months of feedback.
